Cloud-Connected Bike Lock Is Just As Cool - And Crazy - As It Sounds

Skylock is a U-lock which uses a solar-powered lock that syncs with your smartphone and the cloud. Instead of using a key mechanism there are integrated electronics that let you either unlock it with your smartphone or tap in a numerical password. This means that a person cannot pick your lock with just a pen. There is no key hole and if someone jostles your parked bike longer or harder than what's expected on the street, the built-in accelerometers will be detected and sent to your phone an alert. The same detector can sense if you had a sudden stop and you fall. If you do not respond when the alert pops up then emergency responders are alerted. Right now if you preorder it will cost $159. Researcher Develops Smartphone App That Can Detect Skin Cancer

Based on early tests there is an app that will be able to detect if you might be afflicted and has a reported 85% rate of accuracy. The app was developed by George Zouridakis, a professor at the University of Houston. This app is not available in the app store because they are still undergoing testing and it will require a $500 dermascope, a magnifying glass, and a light source for it to work properly. The idea behind this app is to increase accessibility by doctors and those living in more rural parts of the country, where access to dermatologists might not be as easy compared to living in the city.

After reading the article, I know that I must be very careful when it comes to social media. In real life I don't take a lot of selfies or post a lot. I also don't post any curse words when I post or my dad would kill me! I learned a lot from this article.
