Travel back in time with Google Street View
Google Map's Street View has added time travel as a feature allowing viewers to go back into the past and view how a place has changed year-by-year. Google has been collecting images of places for seven years since 2007 and these are used in the new feature. Some pictures like the reconstruction in Japan after the devastating 2011 earthquake and tsunami are shown. You can witness the construction of important landmarks such as the Freedom Tower in New York City or the 2014 Brazil World Cup Stadium. You can even experience different seasons and see what it would be like to drive through the countryside in Europe during the summer, spring, winter or fall. To use the new feature, click on the clock icon in the upper left-hand of a Street View image and move slider through time to rewind to the past or fast forward to the present.
