Researcher Develops Smartphone App That Can Detect Skin Cancer
Based on early tests there is an app that will be able to detect if you might be afflicted and has a reported 85% rate of accuracy. The app was developed by George Zouridakis, a professor at the University of Houston. This app is not available in the app store because they are still undergoing testing and it will require a $500 dermascope, a magnifying glass, and a light source for it to work properly. The idea behind this app is to increase accessibility by doctors and those living in more rural parts of the country, where access to dermatologists might not be as easy compared to living in the city.

After reading the article, I know that I must be very careful when it comes to social media. I always knew that I should be careful on social media but I thought that without my permission that colleges can see my social networking websites. In real life I don't take a lot of selfies or post a lot. I also don't post any curse words when I post or my dad would kill me! I learned a lot from this article.

Travel back in time with Google Street View
Google Map's Street View has added time travel as a feature allowing viewers to go back into the past and view how a place has changed year-by-year. Google has been collecting images of places for seven years since 2007 and these are used in the new feature. Some pictures like the reconstruction in Japan after the devastating 2011 earthquake and tsunami are shown. You can witness the construction of important landmarks such as the Freedom Tower in New York City or the 2014 Brazil World Cup Stadium. You can even experience different seasons and see what it would be like to drive through the countryside in Europe during the summer, spring, winter or fall. Invisibility
As I was standing on the top of the Empire State Building, I felt for once I wanted to be able to be New York's invisible Harry Potter and his invisibility cloak. From the Empire State Building I could see most of Manhattan where the busy city is still running. Looking around, I started to think for once to live my life to help innocent people that can be helped. Just when I was about to leave the Empire State Building I saw a something.
In a little alleyway, I saw a little boy surrounded by a group of men. Unsure what they were doing I run there as fast as I could. There I saw the men trying to hurt the kid. I ran to the trash cans near by and started to throw them at the men. I then found a metal that I took and whacked those idiots, who fainted. I hurriedly took the little boy to the near's McDonald and left.

Apple issues fix for security risk
Apple had a hole left unfixed which could allow hackers to read private communications sent over Apple devices: emails, instant messages, social media posts and even online bank transactions.Though Apple believes that is unlikely for hackers to see anything since they released a security patch over the weekend. It was issued for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touches, but not for OS X software. This lets hackers view the communications, such as bank deposits or Facebook and see other username and password.

World History (Ms. Garvin)
Everyday 2nd period I have World History with Ms. Garvin. Though it is her first year teaching World History she is not a bad teacher. She went to Purdue University for a bachelors degree and now studies at Columbia University. Ms. Garvin maybe strict but I learned a lot from her. Her grading polices are 45% for projects, 45% for tests and, 10% for homework.
When I first started that course I expected to learn about history starting from the being, but we started from the Renaissance and are going up to World War II. Though I was quite disappointed at first but I still really like what I am learning now. It may be better than learning about cavemen. Up to right now we have learned about the Renaissance all the way up to the Industrial Revolution. I am really looking forward to going to the Metropolitan Museum.
In class, Ms. Garvin likes to use technology to teach us about what we are learning. Many of the times we work in groups to create to wiki-dots blog. There we post our projects or research on what we were assigned. We also made Prezi and Power Points for projects for review or a project grade.
